15. Texas is home to two of the Kidz Bop youngsters. Grant Knoche, 13, is from Dallas, and Sela Hack, 15, is from San Antonio.
Sela has been in three other movies before this one: Dance With Me (2009), Where Are You Going My Love? (2008) and The Notebook (2004). She's also appeared on television in series such as 7th Heaven and Walker, Texas Ranger.
She's going to be 16 years old next month.
In addition to dancing, Sela loves music, especially R&B and hip hop. Her favorite musicians are Rihanna, Kanye West, and Jay-Z. She says that she wants to be a part of something great and have people look back at her time with Kidz Bop with pride.
In 2009, Kidz Bop sold over 100 million downloads worldwide. They've had five number one songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart so far this year. Their latest album, Kidz Bop 10, was released in 2015.
Grant has been featured on Kidz Bop albums since 2006's Roll Out. He wrote two songs for that album and has written or co-written every song he's performed on since then.
Although Sela and Ashlynn are the group's oldest members at 15 years old, Ashlynn has already been a Kidz Bop kid for three years. Grant and Matt are both 13 years old and have been members of the group since they were 10 years old. Grant started out as one of Sela's backup singers before becoming a full-time member of the group.
He's now one of the main writers for the songbook along with his brother Matt who also performs as part of the group. Their father Larry King is also a writer for the band. He's the youngest member of the family band called the King Bees.
They've been playing music together since they were children. Their mother is a singer and their uncle is a drummer. They say music is in their blood.
Grant got his start in music by writing songs for Sela. Soon after joining the group, he wrote his first hit "I'm Yours" about his love for her. After its success, he began writing more songs about other things in his life. One of these songs was called "Love Me Like You Used To" which became a number one hit for Jason Mraz in 2015.
In 2016, he wrote two songs for Ashlynn's first solo album called "Want to Want me" and "Paralyzed".
We are seeking for youngsters between the ages of 9 and 12 to join the Kidz Bop Kids!
All participants will have the opportunity to learn several songs from various artists who have charted within the Billboard Hot 100. In addition, they will also have the chance to perform these songs on stage before an audience of family and friends.
The goal is for our young performers to experience the thrill of being on stage while learning how to play music together. Also, by joining Kidz Bop, they will be given the opportunity to grow as individuals while helping others realize their dream of becoming musicians too.
There are many ways for people to get involved with Kidz Bop including but not limited to: singing back-up vocals, playing instruments, and even appearing in some of our videos. If you're interested, please send your photo and resume to [email protected]. We would love to hear from you!
