To enroll in kindergarten in California, a kid must be five years old by September 1st. Kindergarten through fifth grade (ages 5–10), middle school grades 6–8 (ages 11–13), and high school classes 9–12 (ages 14–18) all use the same grading system. The following letter grades are used to identify students' progress during these school years: A's, B's, C's, D's, and F's.
These letters are only given to students who complete all the requirements for their grade. If a student misses more than 10 percent of the possible points available for that grade, they will not receive a passing grade. For example, if a student misses 25 of 100 questions on an exam, they would get a score of "C" and not a "B" or an "A".
The number next to each letter is the percentage score needed to earn that letter. So, a "C" needs a score of 50% to receive a "C". A "F" requires a score of 0 to receive a "F".
Here are some examples: A student earns one "A", one "B", two "Cs", and three "Ds" to earn a total of four letters. Or, another student earns three "As", one "B", and no "Cs" or "Fs" to earn the same total of four letters.

All across America people are going back to school this year. As they do, they should know that college is a good choice for their future but it's not the only choice. They can also go into teaching. In fact, there are many opportunities in the education field. People can become teachers, counselors, librarians, administrators, and so much more. There are even positions available at McDonald's for some reason.
Schools have different levels of security. The most basic level of security is the lockable desk drawer. These are found in any classroom with ten or more students. Students can place personal items in these desks. The items will be kept safe until the end of the school day when the teacher collects them. This method of security works well for small items such as pencils and notebooks. It is not suitable for expensive equipment or materials needed for classes.
If a classroom has fewer than ten students then each student gets their own locker.
